CII Mission on Technology,
Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights to South Korea

The committee recently took a Mission to South Korea on Technology, Innovation & IPR from 3 April to 7 April 2023. The objective of the mission was to create a global business platform of collaboration for Indian and S Korean Industries & Stakeholders. The mission was led by Mr Satish Reddy, Chairman, CII National Committee on IP and Chairman, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.

India-South Korea (Republic of Korea) diplomatic relations achieved the mark of 50 years in 2023. The core purpose of the mission was to identify collaborative opportunities for Indian and S Korean Industry based on areas of mutual interest and growth. Also to understand the key dynamics, working factors and Imperatives of the R&D ecosystem and the IP regime of S Korea, which have led S Korea become a leading investor in Research and Innovation. Senior members from Industry and Law firms were the part of the mission .

During the 5 days mission, the members interacted with top representatives of Innovation and IP bodies in S Korea such as Korea Intellectual Property Association (KINPA), National Institute of Green Technology, Korea International Trade Association (KITA), LG Science Park, Ministry of Science and ICT(MOSIT), Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST), Goyang Industry Promotion Agency (GIPA), Korea Copyright Protection Agency. Mission members also get opportunity to interact with H E Amit Kumar, Ambassador of India to S Korea .
