Vivek Shah is chief executive officer (CEO) of the Meril group of companies. As CEO, his responsibilities include the following:

Strategy development for all existing and new businesses,
Expanding the global on-ground presence of the group into all key markets, and
Increasing Meril’s market share.

In his 15 years at Meril, Mr Shah has led a number of critical initiatives across businesses that have made the company the most significant player in its areas. For instance:

He built the most effective sales team in orthopaedic devices, which is why Meril has the largest share of the market in India

He worked with doctors across the country (and globally) and product design teams to simplify and thus make the surgical process easier

Over the last 4 years, he has been building the endo-surgery business, and a products team that would make Meril the largest player in surgical devices in India.

Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience to the table, Mr. Shah has proven his leadership prowess in managing large teams within the healthcare industry. Notably, a significant portion of his career has been dedicated to making impactful contributions at Meril.

Some achievements include ensuring the company’s adherence to cGMP and regulatory standards, guiding numerous clinical studies to publication, and launching products that are category leaders. Before his current position, Shaheen served as CEO of HB Natural Ingredients, BGG Americas, and Algae Health Sciences, subsidiaries of BGG World.

Shaheen Majeed is the Global CEO & Managing Director of the Sami-Sabinsa Group. Shaheen has held diverse roles, including sales, supply chain management, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and global marketing. As President Worldwide, his innovative global strategies expanded the company’s reach across multiple continents. Over 25 years, he shaped the company into a global nutraceutical ingredient leader.
