Ramesh Datla is the Chairman of ELICO Ltd a leading technology player in the area of design and Manufacturing of Analytical Instrumentation and the first Analytical Instrument manufacturing company in India established in 1960. He is also the Chairman of Elico Healthcare Services Ltd, which offers Healthcare IT Services to Hospital and Physician practices in USA.
He is a Doctorate in Spectroscopy Instrumentation from SK University, a Graduate in Executive Management from MIT Sloan School of Management, USA and also holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University, USA and a Masters in Electronic Design Technology from Indian Institute of Science, India.
Began his career in 1989 as Development Engineer in Cirrus Logic Inc., a semiconductor company in California, USA. He returned to India in 1992 and joined as Works Manager in Elico Ltd., and held various positions over the period. In 1998 he was appointed as Managing Director of Elico Ltd. In 2009 was named Chairman of the Board.
From 2007 to 2013 Ramesh Datla served as Board of Director in State Bank of Hyderabad a Public Sector Bank.
He is the Advisory Board Member of the Electronics & ICT Academy of NIT Warangal and was an Advisory Board Member of College of Engineering, Osmania University & Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad and Kakinada.
Ramesh Datla is actively associated with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and is presently the Chairman, CII National Committee on IP and Past Chairman of CII Southern Region and was Past Chairman of CII National Committee on Water, CII National Committee on Intellectual Property, CII National Membership Committee, CII National MSME Council and CII AP. He has been actively associated with the industry chamber and held several advisory roles to the Government on behalf of the Industry. He represented India as a speaker in the G20-B20 Summit in Cannes-France and Los Cabos-Mexico, OECD Conference-Tokyo, GTZ Conference- Berlin, Gulf Cooperation Council Meeting-Muscat, UKIBC Conference-Manchester, etc.
As an active member of Confederation of Indian Industry lead several delegations to USA, Europe, Japan, CIS Countries, Mexico, China, South East Asia, etc.
