Background

    Our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s has envisioned to make this decade a “Techade” for India. The "India Growth Story" in the context of the "Techade" represents a transformative vision for the nation, increasing emphasis on leadership in technology and intellectual property (IP), enabled by strategic partnerships between industry and academia that drives the journey towards a "Viksit Bharat" or a developed India.

    Towards this, the following three key priorities shall drive growth for India and the global economy:

      1. Transformative Technology leadership in sunrise sectors
      2. Future-ready Intellectual Property (IP) ecosystem
      3. Fostering Industry- Academia Partnerships

    With this background, the Confederation of Indian Industry is hosting an Annual Summit on Technology, IP & Industry-Academia Partnership on 12-13 December 2024 at Hotel The Lalit, New Delhi. The summit and the deliberations would be a testament to the country's commitment to becoming a global leader in technology and innovation. Through strategic leadership and global partnerships in technology, a robust IP framework, and strong industry-academia collaborations, India is well-positioned to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Focus Areas

    The summit will address critical themes, including:

  • Focus on Transformative Technologies:Understanding the role of transformative technologies in sunrise sectors such as AI, quantum computing, Genomics, Robotics, Nuclear energy and many others in driving the next wave of collaborative research.
  • Strategic IP Management: Exploring the evolving role of IP in supporting technological innovation and enhancing commercialization strategies.
  • Industry-Academia Collaborations: Identifying key imperatives, successful models of partnership, challenges, and how both sides can mutually benefit from co-innovation.
