The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to promote Intellectual Property Rights in India through policy reforms, capacity development, IP protection and enforcement. Every year on 26th April, on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, it organizes India Intellectual Property Convention in New Delhi, in partnership with Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and Intellectual Property office, India (IPO). The Government also confers National Intellectual Property Awards on this occasion on companies, academic institutions, research organisations as well as individuals who are champions of IP creation and commercialization.

Being organized since 2009, these awards and convention have helped create a strong IP ecosystem in the country. This is the twelveth year of this initiative and to mark this important milestone in its history, CII is planning to organize a one-day exhibition cum convention on 27^th April 2020 at Hotel Le-Meridien in New Delhi.
